When I think of winter outfits, I always gravitate between two extremes: on one side, there’s the idea that you have to wear strong or very light colors to contrast the typical darkness of some winter days. On the other hand, I love to indulge in these typical winter shades, like grey and black, choosing to wear them a lot in my daily outfits.
And even if some people consider them (IMHO unfairly) quite “sad” colors for short, grey winter days, I’m convinced that they can also be really stylish, practical and elegant, because they highlight the woman who wears them instead of grabbing up the whole scene.
As you can see in these pictures, I like to pair grey with black in the same outfit. This old grey dress by Halston Heritage is really easy to wear and to pair with other items I have in my wardrobe. And, as it always happens with grey melange pieces, they add light to the whole outfit and often highlight your complexion.
For this reason, last year I bought also this grey melange scarf that can be easily combined with other coats and jackets.
As for the rest of the outfit, I chose to wear everything in black with some metallic accents – like the beautiful chain of my Falabella Bag that adds some brightness to this otherwise dark outfit.
