In today’s post, we’re talking about the new fall-winter 2021 22 fashion trends that are totally wearable beyond 40.
Trends are, after all, always abundant. Some of them are easy to wear, and perhaps they were present in previous fashion seasons.
Others may be a little stranger, but yes, they are beautiful to look at and admire on the catwalks. But we already know at first glance that they are unlikely to make it off the runways and onto the streets and into our closets.
That’s why today I want to take a closer look at those new fall-winter 2021 22 fashion trends that are absolutely wearable beyond 40.
MY FAVORITE SHOPPING RESOURCES
The first new trend that I particularly like, as a lover of monochromatic looks, are the so-called tonal outfits. The tonal outfit is practically a standalone version of the classic monochromatic outfit, i.e. kept in the same color from head to toe, as it’s basically about dressing in one and the same shade, but using different hues.
Not only different shades, but perhaps also different prints and materials, easily combining different shades of the same color.
This creates added interest in a monochromatic outfit, livens it up a bit, and also allows us to play better with our body proportions by utilizing the power of these lighter and darker tones, so for me at least, this is a very promising trend that I will certainly be adopting.
Crop-Tops (or just shorter tops)
A second trend taken directly from spring is the crop top, or simply tops, blouses, sweaters that are short at the waist but cover the belly well. I also find this type of crop tops more suitable for autumn temperatures.
This type of tops allows us to emphasize the waist well, because when they end at one of the thinnest parts of our body, they also create an ultra-feminine line.

Sweaters and cardigans
Another strong trend for fall that will be repeated this year is sweaters and cardigans.
Not just closed sweaters – they’re more or less always around – but like last year (I dedicated an entire video to the cardigan), this open version of the sweater, the knitted piece will continue to be very popular.
You will also find many models that are cut short at the waist. Another strong trend for this fall, are sweaters in neutral shades, including new caramel shades and dark greens.
Speaking of color, another trend actually comes from summer and is carried over directly into fall/winter: Grass green.
The Shopper Bag
While we’re on the topic of accessories, a strong trend for this fall/winter is the comeback of the shopper bag, both in maxi versions and in slightly smaller versions. Also in terms of shape, we will see a little bit of everything. From the classic square or rectangular bag to the latest trend, the round bag.
Silk & Satin
Another trend that I have already told you about is silk and satin.
These two materials are very classic by nature and because of their advantages practically eternal . But this year they are back, in combinations that are absolutely suitable even for autumn/winter.
Silk is also an excellent insulator that keeps us cool in summer and protects us well from the cold in winter, and above all it goes very well with warmer clothes like cashmere sweaters or cardigans, the big ones with a lot of processing.
For the evening, of course, fits the classic midi skirt, which by now almost every woman has in her closet. But also a wrap dress made of silk or satin looks great.
Metallic Boots and Booties
Another popular fall trend is metallic boots and ankle boots.
Silver ankle boots are a real eye-catcher, perhaps peeking out from under a pair of jeans or raw canvas jeans. Or a light gold boot worn under midi and maxi dresses or even a classic camel hair coat.
This is certainly an interesting trend if you want to give your outfit an innovative twist according to the new fashion of the season.
Classic Leopard Print
Another fall-winter trend is animal prints. They are actually always present in fashion, but depending on the year of the season, one type of print is more in trend than others.
This year, fall and winter are obviously the season for the classic leopard print in classic colors, which, by the way, go well with many neutral winter shades. For example, camel, the whole range of beige tones, but also slightly darker browns, up to black, dark green and dark brown.
Strong colors like red or orange also look very good with this kind of leopard pattern.
The white shirt
The latest trend is actually a classic. It will be high on trend this fall and winter in all shapes, in all lengths: the classic white shirt .
It can be worn in a variety of ways, including under sweaters.
Of course, if you think that pure white shirts are not so much your color because they do not match your skin tone, you can experiment with cream, ivory and so on.
Because every woman has a shade of white that suits her.
These are ten simple, absolutely current trends that will be high in this fall/winter.
So if we already have them, I always recommend to first take a look in our closet and pull out everything that is currently in fashion, so we can have it right in front of us and then make the most of it when the time comes.
That said, buying something new and fresh at the beginning of each season is always a smart move financially as well, in my opinion, because it helps us make much better use of what we already have in our closet and thus end up saving money through smart and targeted shopping.
