Outfit: a Gucci Belt, Black Jeans and a Cream Blouse

In these days of still very mild and almost summery temperatures, I started to think a bit about the autumn-winter 2019 2020 fashion, as you may have noticed from some of the last posts! But when it comes to deciding what to actually wear every day, I’m not a great outfit planner. On the contrary, I admit that I usually prefer to leave some margin of spontaneity and decide at the very last second.

ORGANIZING MY WARDROBE IN VIEW OF THE AUTUMN-WINTER FASHION…

In any case, one of the things I learned is that a wardrobe, to work well, must contain some particular pieces, but also many “workhorses”. Easy and versatile pieces, often uni, that we can combine with great ease to create many new outfits with what we already have for every new fashion season.

And as “special” pieces for this outfit I chose my Gucci double G belt, my Givenchy Nightingale bag and a pair of eye-catching earrings. Well, my black Gucci belt with the double G is a great workhorse as well and I’ve been using it a lot for about 12 years now! I’m also planning to buy the Marmont version of this great Gucci belt!

Because sometimes the special and super trendy things are tempting, but they don’t work if we don’t have a wardrobe with a solid “backbone”, made of garments and accessories that suit us, in colors that look good on us and that match a bit with everything.

For this reason, this year I already started to draw up a list of garments and accessories for my autumn-winter shopping that strengthen the “backbone” of my wardrobe – but also a mini list of more particular pieces!

So, the first purchase was a basic but also useful garment, like this cream-colored blouse (I have some white blouses, so I chose a warmer and darker shade).

Given the mild temperatures, I combined this first purchase of my autumn-winter 2019 2020 fashion shopping with much black, my Gucci double G belt and a pair of summer espadrilles with python details, which I have used a lot all summer!
