What is your favorite office outfit? And how to dress, in general, for the office, now that the days have become decidedly more chilly and the weather changes very often?
Yesterday, for example, everything started out well: I drove to the office very comfortably with my husband by car, had breakfast with croissants at the bar. Lunch in a nice place in the city center. But then, in the afternoon, it started to rain, I had forgotten my umbrella at home, I had to do the grocery shopping (a big one!) on the way home because I had promised to prepare the first risotto of the season to everyone, at home.
Ah, and last but not least, while juggling computer, bag, shopping, my brand new 9.90 euro umbrella I had to buy because of the heavy rain, I returned home by bus. A bus that, with the rain and the hot air fans already on, had turned into a strange and horrible mix between sauna, Turkish bath and the smell of wet dog. And obviously I looked like a wet dog too, once I got home.
In short, it’s a little bit my tastes to be minimal, a little is the need to always be comfortable to cope with my always very busy workdays, but my favorite office outfits are usually very simple, almost minimalist.
To which, however, I like to add some particular details. Often it’s an accessory, other times it’s an apparently simple garment, but with some unusual detail. In this case, I chose a pair of trousers by Zara with a double white and blue stripe on the side, with a particular cut, wide and short at the ankle.
A minimal look and 8 cm heeled boots, my Chanel Jumbo bag worn cross body: a very comfortable office outfit to face another busy day….
Earrings made of fabric and beads, my favorite pair, also because they are very light to wear but still decorative… The strange “dot” on my nose is a joke of my cell phone ;). Sooner or later I have to learn to figure this out!! 🙂
“Real” ladies would be horrified, but I like the Chanel Jumbo carried in a more casual way for my office outfits, cross body. Worn like this, it leaves your hands free, which is of course very practical.
