Since my last outfit post generated so much interest and some questions about the specific dress I was wearing, I thought it could be useful to write a blog post specifically dedicated to the black sweater dress (which, of course, can be chosen in any other color shade, whether neutral or bright. In this post, though, I would like to talk about the black version of the sweater dress, which proved to be a really versatile must-have in my wardrobe).
I browsed a little online and found some really beautiful versions of the black sweater dress on ASOS, where I also bought some of my own sweater dresses during the last seasons. Even more, almost everything is on sale right now on ASOS, with discounts that reach 50%: a great moment to do some online shopping!
The other two advantages offered by ASOS are the free, easy returns as well as the fact that you can see each item worn by a model in a short video. This option proved to be very helpful for me during the last few seasons and helped me to avoid shopping mistakes.
It’s really helpful for me to understand how the specific item could look on me before I place an order and if it could suit me or not. In this post I’ve selected 7 different dresses that are actually in my personal wish list and I think they all look really beautiful.
More in general, the variety of sweater dresses you can find online is really great: click HERE for a wider choice and also HERE! And if you prefer to invest in a designer and/or luxury version of the sweater dress, you can find a great choice HERE.

How to pair your black sweater dress?
It obviously depends on the shape and the length of your sweater dress. The long and midi models, for example, usually look great worn with biker boots or some other low-heeled, edgy boots, but also with a pair of those 70’s style knee high boots you can see everywhere this year. But also a pair of sneakers can look very nice paired with a midi or a long sweater dress.
If you choose a knee-length or a mini sweater dress, especially if they are a little soft and not too tight at the bottom, they will look great combined with a pair of over-the-knee boots that will also keep you really warm – much more than trousers or jeans!
When it comes to colors, the advantage to have at least one black sweater dress in your closet is that it can be paired with any other color.
Nonetheless, a black sweater dress also looks great worn alone, only highlighted by a single accessory or jewelry piece. It also enhances your figure. I like to maintain the “column” effect and to wear it with black tights and boots, choosing contrasting colors for my coat and other accessories, as it elongates the silhouette and looks great on every woman.
In my opinion a warm, soft sweater dress is always a great core piece of my winter wardrobe: practical, versatile and chic, it can be easily adapted to many occasions.

I love this! And your English translation is amazing! As someone who likes to dress stylishly but doesn’t have a lot of time to find the best deals online, I usually end up either missing a trend or paying a lot more in a shop. It’s summer in Australia but I am saving this for winter!
Hi Amelia, thank you so much for your kind words! I love your blog with all the wonderful destinations and will follow you!
