How To Dress Well Every Day: 8 Tips To Elevate Your Outfits

Miscellaneous

Today we are talking about a topic that I think is fascinating: how to dress well every day and take our everyday outfits, even the most simple and minimal ones, to the next level.

Dressing well every day is possible with a few simple tricks that transform our everyday looks into something completely different, certainly more interesting and sophisticated.

In fact, it is often not a matter of already studying complicated looks the night before.

Because, let’s face it, very often we have so many different things to do and don’t have the time. It’s more about finding those tricks that allow us to transform even the simplest of our looks.

Even if it’s jeans and T-shirts, we can always add that third element that is so essential in fashion, the one that transforms the whole.

1 – How to dress well every day? Make better use of what you already have

The first piece of advice I want to give you, however, concerns your wardrobe in general and that is to make much better use of what you already have.

Very often we linger in admiration looking at other women’s looks, perhaps on Instagram, Tic-toc, YouTube, blogs or even on the streets.

And this is because we think there is a very complicated study behind it or, even worse, the purchase of countless garments and accessories that are then able to make so many outfits.

But the truth is very often the garments, at least the basic items to make these wonderful outfits, we already have in our wardrobe.

So, let’s try to do some good decluttering and evaluate, examine what we already have, but also study the outfits that catch our eye on social media.

Let’s try to figure out if we don’t already have the individual pieces that allow us to at least recreate something very similar.

Very often, in fact, it is enough simply to match in a new way what we already have, whether in terms of accessories or clothing, simply by rotating them more.

In any case, inspiration is really everywhere. We can take a closer look at women walking down the street who have a look we like, or turn to Pinterest and Instagram and create inspirational moodboards.

2 – Let’s experiment with monochromatic looks

A second tip for instantly making an outfit special is to try a monochromatic look. These are combinations made in the same shade of color, from head to toe.

At this point, we can vary our look with clever touches and make it distinctive.

This method is very simple precisely because it allows you to build an outfit of the same color from head to toe.

It is like creating a rough canvas, a kind of canvas that not only slims us up and makes us look thinner and taller, but at the same time also allows us to play to the fullest with style and bring out even very particular garments and accessories that we otherwise struggle to exploit.

Let’s bring out maybe distinctive jewelry, a scarf or scarf with an interesting pattern, a nice bag that can also be colorful and over the top.

Speaking of handbags. If you’re looking for the perfect model to elevate your style, here are some particularly classy ones:

Because on a monochromatic outfit it really stands out the most. The same goes for shoes as well. If we love particular models that sometimes risk looking over the top with more complicated outfits, on a monochromatic look they stand out the most without taking away from elegance.

3 – Harness the power of a vibrant lipstick (or a special makeup)

Another tip, which is not about clothing, is to elevate our look with a particularly vibrant lipstick or makeup with distinctive accents.

Usually makeup experts advise not to enhance both the eyes and the lips at the same time, but to focus mainly on one of these two aspects, depending on what we like.

You can be dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, but if you have a vibrant lipstick in the right color that enhances you, brings out your skin tones and your other colors, that’s when everything will stand out more and the look will immediately look more elegant and refined.

I particularly love this vinyl lipstick from Maybelline, available in many colors. It is very persistent and looks great even on women over 50. Its special texture allows you to wear even very bright colors without problems. I highly recommend it!

4 – Use red or dark red (rouge noir) nail polish

Another tip similar to the previous one is to use a red nail polish.

In order to always be able to have good hands, I recently started doing gel manicures at home with a fantastic kit , which allows me to do a gel manicure in half an hour, with optimal durability for up to 3 weeks.

If you dress with a minimal chic style, with very simple looks, a colorful nail polish really gives an extra touch.

Be careful, however, to choose red or, in general, a classic color while avoiding nail art and other classless effects.

We also match the color of the nail polish to our complexion: we will have more beautiful hands and our whole image will gain in harmony.

5 – Create tonal looks

Another tip is to adopt a tonal look.

The tonal look is a variation of the monochromatic look, because it involves dressing from head to toe in very similar shades of color.

These looks are naturally elegant, especially when played in neutral shades.

For example, imagine those summer looks all played out between shades of white of cream, light beige, which are always and unfailingly elegant.

We can also play with the texture of different fabrics, choosing fabrics that contrast slightly with each other and make the look even more chic.

6 – Don’t forget jewelry and costume jewelry

Another very very simple and immediate way to elevate an outfit is to play with jewelry or bijoux.

In my opinion, there is no need to have heavy and expensive jewelry pieces. In fact, it can even be risky to walk around wearing this kind of jewels!

Sustainable jewelry made of recycled precious metals by AnaLuisa NY – my favorites! Buy them here with a discount.

Rather, we play with effect pieces: again, less is more. It is better to focus on a single effect piece and leave everything else fairly minimal.

I, for example, love to pair a particular pair of earrings with minimal gold jewelry from Ana Luisa, which is also sustainable. Take a look!

We can also use a beautiful scarf, a pashmina with a particular pattern, or a beautiful handbag or of course a particular pair of shoes to enliven our outfits.

7 – Learn to play with your clothes

Another very important tip that sometimes really makes all the difference in the world is to play more with what we wear.

For example, let’s try rolling up the sleeves a little. Let’s reveal the thin, elegant parts of our physique, whether it’s the wrists or two nice ankles.

Tuck in your blouse in a special way in your pants or modify the hem of your jeans, creating new lines that instantly make us more slender.

Buttoning or unbuttoning shirts and coats in a certain way can also change the game. So can adding a belt in the right spot.

In short, the tricks are really many. Here, too, we can find many ideas on Pinterest or Instagram-there are many very good influencers who regularly show these tricks.

8 – Add an unexpected element

The last tip is a trick that I resort to very often. It involves adding an unexpected touch to your outfits, even the simplest ones.

It often works in fashion especially by creating contrasts. For example, if you love very classic pencil skirts, don’t pair them with a pair of pumps, because the effect risks aging, adding years not only to the look, but also to us. It is too obvious a combination.

On the other hand, if you break up the same skirt with a pair of boots in a trendy style, or with a pair of sandals if it’s hot, it creates a nice contrast that immediately makes your look more interesting.

If you love a particularly bon ton style, leather garments, such as pants, can help.

The contrasts you can create are truly endless. Experiment, you will notice that your looks will appear younger and fresher.

Very little is needed to dress well every day. It is not a matter of studying sophisticated looks or buying grand gowns to show off twenty-four hours a day.

Instead, it’s about getting to know yourself, getting to know your style, getting to know the fashion, the trends of the moment, and then playing around, adapting everything to your own tastes and personality.
