Knowing how to style a floral dress in winter is a fun and fashionable way to embrace the newest fashion trends.
In the past, these flowery patterns were thought of as romantic but not really in fashion. They were mostly saved for the months between April and August when the weather was warmer.
However, things have changed in recent times. Floral prints have made a strong comeback, and they're not just trendy – they've become even more interesting and stylish. Sometimes, they even give the classic all-black outfits a run for their money, especially for evening looks!
Some great options at a glance:
How To Style a Floral Dress: Mini, Midi or Maxi Length?
Nowadays, you'll spot a variety of floral dress styles, from Midi to Maxi lengths, as well as shorter dresses that sit slightly above the knee.
Some of these styles might be new, or they might be older designs that have resurfaced, like the dress silhouette shown in these photos.
For those of us who were used to wearing sleek sheath dresses or the iconic Diane von Fürstenberg style, this shift was quite a significant change.
Personally, I chose to add a baby doll floral dress to my wardrobe. It suits my style, proportions, and existing clothes collection perfectly, making it incredibly easy and versatile to wear.
Since getting this dress, I've already found many creative ways to put together different outfits with it.

One great thing about this dress style is its roominess, making it suitable for wearing even when the weather is still chilly. You can easily layer it with a lightweight thermal T-shirt, perhaps in ultra-thin cashmere, to stay warm without sacrificing style.
How to accessorize a floral dress
When it comes to accessorizing this type of dress, the key elements, in my opinion, are the shoes. Personally,
I enjoy pairing these dresses with slouch boots that go up to the middle of the calf. Another option is to opt for a comfy pair of black over-the-knee boots for a chic look.
This season, I'm also drawn to the idea of pairing these dresses with biker boots or combat boots for an edgier vibe.
To give a touch of definition to this slightly oversized style, which might not always flatter our figure, I find that a small shoulder bag works wonders.
My Gucci Marmont bag, for example, complements one of the colors in the floral pattern, adding a stylish finishing touch.

A small cross body bag adds a touch of definition to an otherwise slightly shapeless dress…

I personally gravitate towards floral patterns that have plenty of breathing room, with generous sections of solid color (like black) between the flowers. These kinds of patterns feel particularly appealing to me, as they bring a more contemporary vibe to the table.
