Floral dresses for spring 2020: a trend that doesn’t hint at disappearing from the fashion scene, but above all from what women wear every day in our cities.
In the past, in fashion, floral motifs were considered romantic but definitely not trendy. Moreover, this kind of print was often relegated to the months from April to August and practically non-existent in the colder months.
Since a few seasons, however, floral prints have returned to the forefront and, above all, have become more trendy, more interesting and more stylish. Sometimes they even risk competing with total black for evening outfits!
In the last few seasons, the Midi and Maxi dresses have become very popular, but also shorter models, slightly above the knee, in fairly new styles or that hadn’t been seen for a while, such as the silhouette of the dress you see in these photos.
For those of us who, like me, were used to wearing mostly sheath dresses or Diane van Fürstenberg style dresses, it was quite a radical change in fact.
I decided to buy this baby doll floral dresses because for my style, my proportions and my wardrobe it is undoubtedly the easiest and most versatile model to wear. Since then I’ve already worn it in many ways.
Orecchini dorati che riprendono l’hardware della Gucci Marmont…
One of the advantages of this model is that, being wide, it can be easily worn even when it’s still cold and also in rather light fabrics. Simply wear a thin thermal T-shirt underneath, for example in ultra-thin cashmere, to avoid feeling any cold.
The other important elements to wear this kind of dresses properly are, for me, first of all the shoes. Personally I like to wear this kind of clothes with slouch boots that reach the middle of the calf or even with a comfortable pair of black over-the-knee boots.
This season I also like to combine this kind of dresses with biker boots or combat boots.
To add a little definition to this slightly oversized model that doesn’t always do justice to our silhouette, I like to add a small shoulder bag, like my Gucci Marmont , which takes up one of the colors of the floral pattern.
A small cross body bag adds a touch of definition to an otherwise slightly shapeless dress…
Well spaced out floral patterns with a lot of solid color (in this case black) between the flowers are the ones I prefer.
In fact, I find that they have a more modern touch.
