In my today’s outfit I’m wearing a pair of checked trousers, a garment that only a few seasons ago would have seemed a bit “old-fashioned”, but that instead has come back in vogue. And that, especially with certain combinations, I’m really enjoying right now!
But how to match a pair of checked trousers in an outfit eliminating the risk to look like an old lady?
For me, there’s no need to stray too far from modern, but also classic, garments and accessories in order to make this item of clothing look contemporary: sometimes all it takes is a pair of shoes a bit more trendy, maybe, or simply a little more attention with your outfits.
First of all, the models currently available for checked trousers are really different from the past. Those I wear here, from H&M, have for example a so-called “jogger waist”, i.e. an elasticated waist at the back, a straight leg and are slightly cropped at the ankle.
So I thought of creating an outfit simply by choosing to wear garments and accessories in colors that are present as well in the trousers, but in smaller doses: camel and black.
This is a trick that can be done with any print and that works almost always.
